Submissions
The Australian Government would like to thank all the organisations and individuals who have prepared submissions for the Australia in the Asian Century White Paper. The public submission process was open from 17 December 2011 to 4 March 2012. Submissions received after 4 March are welcome but please note that it will become increasingly difficult to formally include them in the White Paper’s development.
Each submission, except for those that are in-confidence or inconsistent with the task force’s guidelines (see below), will be published on this website shortly after receipt, and will remain there indefinitely as a public document.
Please note that views or opinions expressed in submissions reflect the views of the persons or entities making those submissions only. Inclusion of submissions shall not be taken as an endorsement by the Australian Government or the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet of any views or opinions so expressed. Copyright in submissions rests with the author of each submission. The Commonwealth does not accept liability for any breaches of the authors’ copyright.
How to prepare a submission
To assist in the preparation of submissions, the Advisory Panel has released an Issues Paper that outlines broad issues and asks questions to prompt further discussion.
Submissions may range from a short letter outlining your views on a particular topic to a much more substantial document covering a range of issues. To the maximum extent possible, all submissions should be provided as public documents that can be placed on the White Paper website for others to read and comment on. However, sensitive material that cannot be published, for example, material of a personal or commercial nature, will also be accepted.
How to lodge a submission
You can lodge submissions online, via the link at the top of this page, or you can post your submission to:

Online submissions in Word (.doc) format are preferred. PDF files are acceptable, however, to ensure your PDF is as electronically readable as possible, we recommend that the PDF is derived from word processing software (e.g. Microsoft Word or Lotus notes) and not derived from a scanner, fax or photocopying machine.
If submitting via post, please provide a completed submission cover sheet (56 KB DOC | 337 KB PDF). For submissions received from individuals, all personal details (e.g. home and email address, phone and fax number) will be removed before it is published on the website for privacy reasons.
Guidelines for publication
Submissions that could offend, humiliate or intimidate another person will not be published on this website, nor will submissions that have the potential to affect national security or damage the reputation of the Australian Government. Racial comments, obscene, or explicit submissions will not be published. Solicitations or advertisements will also not be published or considered in the White Paper’s development.
